Senscient has opened its first office in the Middle East, located in Sharjah, U.A.E. “Within the last twelve months, we have installed over one hundred of our ELDSTM systems in the Middle East. This includes large projects such as the Majnoon field in Iraq, operated by Shell, the Shah Gas project in the U.A.E., and a number of smaller projects in Qatar, Kuwait, Oman and Egypt. This office will serve as our base for the region, where demand for our laser gas detection technology has accelerated dramatically,” said Rajat Barua, CEO of Senscient.
The office will be managed by recently appointed Regional Sales Manager, Sunil Kumar and serve Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Egypt, Qatar, Oman and the U.A.E. Sunil joins Senscient with over twenty years of sales and marketing experience in the process analytical and control and automation industry with Thermo Fisher Scientific, Yokogawa, and ABB. He has been based in the Middle East since 2005 and holds a bachelor’s degree in electronics engineering from the University of Pune, India. “Senscient has an extremely talented team and I am delighted to join at a very exciting time in the company’s evolution. The company has had a very strong year to date and I look forward to contributing to the company’s impressive growth and success” said Sunil Kumar, Middle East Regional Sales Manager.
“Operators are recognizing the tremendous benefits that open-path laser technology brings to the detection of toxic and flammable gases. In particular, the prevalence of sour gas in the region, has generated strong interest from oil companies. This was an important strategic step for Senscient to support our growing network of local distributors, system integrators and selling partners in the Middle East,” said Larry Hudson, VP of Sales and Marketing for Senscient.
