Lee Richman, founded Senscient in 2003 and is internationally recognized as an authority on gas detection, with 27 years of experience in the design and manufacture of products using advanced electro-optic technology. His experience includes the design, manufacture and support of a wide range of products and technologies including infrared gas detectors, videophones, acousto-optic spectrum analysers and medical diagnostic instrumentation. Lee has been awarded or cited upon patents in the fields of gas detection, electronic warfare and video-telephony. Between 1994 and 1996, he was responsible for starting up the development of infrared gas detectors at Crowcon Detection Instruments. He joined Zellweger Analytics in 1996 to head up their Optics team and subsequently led the development of their Searchline Excel, open path infrared gas detector. At the point of leaving Zellweger Lee was their design authority for optical products
. Lee has a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Bradford.
Prior to joining Senscient in 2012 as European Sales manager, Kevin Dean has over 30 years’ experience in industrial gas detection with a highly successful track record in Sales, Marketing and Product Management. He began his career working for Sieger Ltd which subsequently become Zellweger Analytics and then Honeywell Analytics, where he held many positions including area sales engineer, UK and European Sales Manager, Product training and Marketing Manager. More recently Kevin worked for Xtralis, a manufacturer of aspirated smoke detection (ASD) products where he was the product Manager for a new range of flammable and toxic gas detection products for use with ASD systems. Kevin served an engineering apprenticeship and has and HNC in engineering and has a post graduate Diploma in Marketing with the UK Chartered Institute of Marketing.
Prior to joining Senscient in 2008, Simon Muir has had 20 years’ experience in various Manufacturing, Project and Engineering Management roles. He began his career within the Sheet Metal industry with BICC and more recently with APW and has since had roles in the Electronics Assembly with AVEX Electronics, Cosmetics Manufacturing with Laleham Healthcare, Materials Handling with Linde and Military Product Development and Manufacturing with ABSL. Simon graduated from Heriot Watt University in 1986 with a BSc (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering and from Cranfield University in 1987 with a MSc in Manufacturing Systems Engineering.
Prior to joining Senscient in 2011, Steve Carpenter has had 30 years’ experience in Quality Assurance and Project Management within various Manufacturing Businesses. He began his career at C&N Electrical working in a Military Sub-Contract Environment, then with ACW Electronics. More recently he had roles in Hi-tech Military and Aerospace environments at Wessex Advanced Switching Products working in countries such as China, America, France and Germany. Stephen graduated from the University of Portsmouth with a MSc in Strategic Quality Management.
